Back to topThird Thursday Art Walk! Meet authors Suzanne Elshult and Guy Mansfield to celebrate their new book, "A Dog's Devotion: True Adventures of a K9 Search and Rescue Team"
Join us to welcome author Suzanne Elshult and Guy Mansfield, PhD and their brand new book "A Dog's Devotion: True Adventures of a K9 Search and Rescue Team" during Third Thursday Art Walk!
It is just being published October 1, 2022!
This is being planned as a hybrid event -- live in person at the Bookshop, as well as streaming online to watch live or watch on demand later -- whenever your schedule allows!
At the moment, Keb is also scheduled to join us... what a treat that will be!
Walk in the shadows of disaster, crime, adventure and tragedy with search and rescue K9 Keb and her human companions Suzanne and Guy, as they search the Pacific Northwest wilderness for the lost and the dead. Join them on search and rescue missions, as they are inserted by helicopter to search high snowfields on Mount Rainer or traverse steep forested slopes searching for a clandestine grave. Experience the trials, successes , and failures of real-life search and rescue in Washington State and beyond, where a wrong turn can mean life or death.
Suzanne Elshult, MA has been active in the K9 Search and Rescue (K9SAR) and deployed on hundreds of missions since 2001. She has held leadership positions with both the Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue K9 Team and Everett Mountain Rescue, and is currently the President of Cascadia Search Dogs and a K9 handler with Mason County Search and Rescue.
Guy Mansfield, PhD has been active in Search and Rescue since 2008, with experience as a member of
Everett Mountain Rescue and the Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue.
He has deployed on SAR missions ranging from wilderness searches, to technical rope-rescues, to disaster searches,
to urban searches for Alzheimer patients.
