Back to top6/14/2023: 2023 Women's Prize for Fiction Winner Announced!
We are delighted to announce that Barbara Kingsolver has won the 2023 Women's Prize for Fiction with her novel "Demon Copperhead."
Barbara is the ONLY! double winner of the prize in its 28 year history, having previously won in 2010 with her novel "The Lacuna."
All kinds of great information on the web site here.
Including: "Celebs review the 2023 shortlist" - Lee Child reviews "Demon Copperhead."
Part of his review:
"A lifetime of reading taught me that a great author will be a person of restless intelligence, nagging curiosity, passionate conviction – and, of course, enough sheer writing talent to put on the page what needs to be there. Barbara Kingsolver is exactly that author."
– Lee Child, bestselling author of the Jack Reacher series
...and you can watch the moment she won the prize!
Barbara chatted to Nick Robinson on BBC Radio 4's The Today Programme about Charles Dickens, social mobility and how Virginia is viewed in the United States. Listen to the brief interview here. [Barbara's interview begins at 2:50:51]
